Heiner Metzger, lives and works in Hamburg.

 I am involved since the early eighties in improvisation and experimental music, where i play soundtable, saxophon, clarinets, synthesizer and piano  with ensembles and once only groupings.  At that time i co-founded the groups: vis, tyrrn, Timeta and worked with dancers and visual artists and the Weltmusik Ensemble.

 Later i joined the TonArt-Ensemble, a group of hamburg improvisers where i explored the graphical notation as chance of an open composition.

 In 2005 I created the "soundtable", an instrument that amplifies - sometimes with electronic - the action sounds of kitchen appliances, styrofoam, objects and the table.  The soundtable i performed in different once only gropus, with Birgit Ulher, Gregory Büttner, Michael Maierhof, and the Stark Bewölkt Quartet, founded 2009.. 

 In 2019, we founded the Ensemble EMN, with Kristin Kuldkepp, Christoph Funabashi, Felix Mayer - which concentrates on performing graphical  scores, game or text pieces and open compositions.

 Beside my musical work i curate and organise concertseries: h7-club, work in the board of the Verband für aktuelle Musik Hamburg, 

And i  produce and moderate the monthly radio show klingding radio at the local radio station FSK.

Der soundtable ist eine Tischinstallation, die Aktionen mit Styropor, Küchengeräten und Objekten auf einem Tisch, manchmal elektronisch, verstärkt.
Seit 2005 soundtable Konzerte mit dem Stark Bewölkt Quartett • Birgit Ulher, Gregory Büttner, Michael Maierhof • und in ad-hoc Konzerten.
